City of Hudson Election Update and Notice to Voters

5/1/2026

On April 20, 2026, early voting began for Hudson's City Council General Election. Two council seats and the Mayor's office are on the ballot. On the second day of voting April 23, 2026, city staff were notified that voting machines were limiting voters to vote on only one council position.
Angelina County Elections Office was immediately notified, and they promptly provided replacement voting machines. The City of Hudson contracts with the Angelina County Elections Office, which provides all voting machines and election materials, as well as support to City staff in conducting elections.
After review, it has been determined that six voters were impacted. Per State of Texas elections division officials at the Office of the Texas Secretary of State, a re-vote is not available at this time due to Texas state election regulations.
The City of Hudson takes this matter seriously and is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and fairness of our election process. We want to reassure our residents that this issue was quickly identified, addressed, and limited in scope. The City will continue working closely with the Angelina County Election Office to ensure all election procedures meet the highest standards and that every voter can have full confidence in the process.
Voting will occur on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at Hudson City Hall at 3458 Ted Trout Drive, Hudson, TX 75904.
